COLD FUSION ETF INVESTMENT

ETF, stock market and Cold Fusion Energy opportunities

With the new E-Cat, or energy catalyzer designed by Italian scientists Andrea Rossi, and Sergio Focardi, due to come out on the market likely sometime in the next few years, many people are wondering how they can invest now in this device which has shown great promise in the scientific community. Directly related to the failed cold fusion experiments of 1989 in technique, this particular device has shown in a simple nickel hydrogen fusion, that enough energy can be created to be worth studying as a future form of alternative energy. Although cold fusion allegedly failed as a science in the late eighties and the scientists that created it were debunked as fools, much research has gone into the process since then, and Rossi has finally come up with a device that seems to prove what those original scientists were saying was right all along.

The new method being studied, in an effort to distance it from cold fusion, is being referred to as LENR or, Low Energy Nuclear Reaction. When highly pressurized hydrogen is concentrated in nickel, the final product becomes copper, and energy is released during the process. Essentially what Rossi has created is a copper and energy factory, and there has been a lot of buzz about it since the beginning of 2011 from both scientists and investors.
Because some scientists still remain unconvinced about the ability of the energy catalyzer, Rossi has refused to allow either Defkalion green technologies, or Ampenergo, his Greek and American based partners, to allow for any kind of outside investment in his E-Cat. Recently, Rossi got rid of his contract with Defkalion, releasing a statement that no company secrets had been shared with them, and that they did not know anything about his device that was not publicly known. This was most likely to show potential future investors that there would be no need to invest in Defkalion whatsoever as they no longer had any rights, nor the knowledge to construct his E-Cat. For now his contract with Ampenergo remains solid, but he still refuses to allow anyone to invest in his technology until it has been proven to have consistently accurate results without doubt.

This is a move of sober judgment from Rossi who is facing much doubt from his colleagues regarding the legitimacy of his claims. This just might be his way of letting potential investors know how committed he is to making sure that they are investing their money in a worthwhile endeavor. However, this still begs the question, if Rossi won’t allow it, then how can anyone expect to invest in this newly emerging technology?
There is one project going on in the cold fusion world that will likely be open for future investment, and this is the cold fusion project of Francesco Piantelli. An on and off collaborator with Rossi, Piantelli believes he has invented his own method of LENR that warrants further research and is going through the process of starting up his own company in order to find the project. This is exciting news for investors that are still sore about not being able to invest in Rossi’s work. For now it seems that Rossi isn’t trying to deter investors, he simply wants them to wait until the rest of the world is more confident in his project, a very mature decision.

However, for those that are still interested in making some money off of the deal that would prefer to invest right now rather than waiting for Rossi to give the go-ahead, one option might be to invest in nickel mining companies. It is a well known and reported fact that Rossi’s device will be powered by nickel, so rather than investing in the device itself; it could be a good idea to invest in single nickel mining companies or through an ETF or a fund, who will get a lot more business if demand is increased in the future in order to meet the needs of the E-Cat device. For now, investing in nickel may be the best way to really make money from cold fusion this early on. When Rossi opens his company up for public purchasing of stocks (maybe through an ETF or an hedge fund), then it would be great to get some shares of that as soon as possible before they go up, until then, nickel investment may be the best bet.
